About this sector

Long-cycle programmes, multi-party contracts, and disputes that begin at commissioning and end at cassation.

Engineering and construction in the UAE is a sector defined by federal and emirate-level infrastructure programmes, FIDIC-form contracts, and a mix of mainland and free-zone real-estate regulation. We advise developers, contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants on the documentation that governs the build — from EPC and design-build through to subcontracting and supplier arrangements1.

The disputes side of this sector is substantial. Construction-arbitration before DIAC and LCIA2, FIDIC clause-20 claim sequences, parallel UAE-court proceedings on attachment and security3, and off-plan / RERA-ADREC compliance for development sales4 are the workstreams we run alongside the main commercial documentation.

Construction matters reward the firm that did the contract right — and the firm that ran the dispute properly. The same team should do both.
